Only have one comment to make, it would have been so lovely if there had been more than one vegetarian choice on the main menu, but as a veggie that is usually the case!"

I am a vegeterian and thoroughly enjoyed the mushroom lasagne and dinky pesto loaf. Paul couldn't praise the duo of pork enough. No doubt we will visit you again when we are next in York"

I'd booked the table after reading on line reviews on Yahoo - you're never quite sure how the reality will compare but Oh. My. God!!! The food was divine. The best meal we have EVER had. Reasonably priced, beautifully presented & cooked to perfection. This place is an aboslute gem. The waitresses were wonderful - friendly, helpful, gave recommendations on the dishes & service was prompt & efficient. We live over an hour's drive away but will definitely be returning on a regular basis to dine here. It made a very special weekend away truly memorable. Thank you!"

My spicy Thai fishcakes and lamb shank were cooked to perfection and Julie's starter of spare ribs was the size of a main course in some places, she then couldn't finish her beautiful sirloin steak as it was so big! The service was smooth and quick and the staff were all very friendly, even Kenny himself stopped by our table to check everything was OK. I would definitely recommend Ate O'Clock to anyone who plans a meal out in York, it should be at the top of their list."

The belly pork was incredible, chicken divine and chocolate panna cotta exquisite. We now have a new favourite place to go in York. Funny that Kenny was the chef at our old favourite too...!"

Emma & David, Holmfirth - 16/2/09 - "From time to time, part of the fun of eating out is finding that special place; well this restaurant is secreted at the bottom of a quiet passageway near the centre of York - a real find! I found the place relaxing, friendly with welcoming staff. The service had that personal touch, not stuffy but just spot on awareness where needed. It’s not a large establishment, just nice and cosy.
Familiar food on the menu with interesting diversity made it an easy choice. Our food was delivered fresh and on the whole was sourced locally, which was good to see. It was cooked to order straight from the kitchen.
An establishment I would have no qualms recommending for any occasion, including those imperative business lunches."

The Belly Pork starter (at the beginning of Oct.) was the best we have ever eaten! Love the Fillet Steak and Fat chips too. Kenny's personal touch makes all the difference and his staff are always so polite & helpful. Oh, and loved the Fruit Parcel Dessert from the summer menu - divine! We are returning to York at New Year and have already booked for New Years Eve, along with our 2 friends this time. We are really looking forward to it. See you soon xxxxxxx "
Sharon & Stephen Wood, Blackpool - 15/10/08 - "Finding the right place in Central York to entertain our American friends is always a challenge but not so at Ate O'Clock. The food choice provided was excellent, the quality and presentation of all meals, truly superb, and the atmosphere, wonderful, added to by the musician. The service we received from arrival to departure was spot-on. Our waiter was very attentive and professional and we enjoyed the interaction and humour of the other members of the team. What also meant a huge amount to us was the chef-owner's visit during our meal and that he found the time on a very busy evening to come and say goodbye. We had high expectations following our previous visit and these were most certainly surpassed in every way. Perfection! Ate O'clock is certainly the number one restaurant in York, which we are recommending. Long may they reign.

The staff are very polite and attentive and the ambience is fantastic. Neither myself or any of the people who have dined with me could fault the food. Kenny the owner came to greet us and later came for a chat to check everything was ok and of course it was!! When you walk in its very welcoming and they are never in a rush to get you out again. We will definately be returning very soon, well worth the 2 hours drive from my home town!!! "
